Again we have the wonderful sea views from our venue, the fantastic SAGA Pavilion in Folkestone, and have an exciting programme of Aikido scheduled for the weekend.

Robert Mustard Sensei coming to Genryukan Dojo

Mustard SenseiGenryukan Aikido are pleased to announce confirmation that Robert Mustard Sensei (7th Dan Yoshinkan) is coming to teach at Genryukan Dojo (Dover, Kent).

This special class will be on Tuesday 4th October 2011 from 7pm – 9.30pm, and is strictly limited to 20 students. Price for this session is £20 per person. Places will be filled on a first come first served basis. Once places are filled, we will then operate a wait list in case of drop outs between now and October.

For close to 10 years Robert Mustard Sensei trained as a student of Soke Gozo Shioda, founder of Yoshinkan Aikido,Takafumi Takeno Sensei, 9th Dan; and Tsutomu Chida Sensei, 8th Dan. In 1991 Mustard Sensei was appointed Itaku Shidoin by Shioda Kancho and remained the Chief Foreign Instructor at the Yoshinkan Honbu Dojo, Tokyo, Japan until he moved back to Canada in 1995. Today he is recognized worldwide as being among the very best Yoshinkan Aikido practitioners and instructors.

New Club: Hassou Aikido in Saltwood, Hythe

hasso_logoA new club has been opened in Saltwood, Hythe.

Hassou Aikido has been founded by Eoin Kerrigan and Phil Eyers, members of the Zen Eikoku Tomiki Aikido Renmei (ZETAR).

Training is every wednesday, from 7:30 to 9:30 pm, and is open to anyone over the age of 16.

The venue is the “Lad’s Club” in Saltwood (Rectory Lane, Saltwood, Hythe, CT21 4PZ )

The first session is free, and any subsequent ones are £5.

A beginners course will start in November 2010.

There are quite a few videos that would help everybody, regardless of their ranks, as an instructional or reference material.

It is not style specific so you will find a mix of Tomiki, Yoshinkan, Aikikai, etc…

BAA Autumn School

Held in Margate, Kent at the Thanet Martial Arts Centre, the BAA Autumn School course will run for 2 days in 2010 (6 and 7 November) and will end with an adult grading at all levels, subject to candidates.

This year’s school will include a Coach Level 1 accreditation course for those of at least 1st Kyu who are wishing to branch into coaching.

Gowa Ryu Aikido Club is hosting the Zen Eikoku Tomiki Aikido Renmei’s “SOUTH OF THE RIVER SEMINAR”.

It will take place at the Saga Pavilion near Folkestone (Enbrook House, Sandgate High Street, CT20 3SE) on Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th July, 10:00am to 4:00pm.

£15 per day if paid in advance, £20 per day on the door.
